It is strongly recommended that you take your original documents when traveling within the U.S. This would include your valid passport with visa, I-20/DS-2019 and I-94 card. Please be aware that Texas A&M students have been detained in border areas and not released until they could produce their original passports and other immigration documents.

There is even the potential for spot checks of immigration documents in locations not near a border, such as South Padre Island, Texas.
