Dear EEC User:
The International Student Services (ISS) has finally completed an updated
version of EEC (EEC 2005 Release) which will incorporate new features, some
of which were specifically requested by payroll users, to enable the system
to be more user-friendly and accommodate the work that you do. EEC 2005 is
scheduled for release on Friday, May 6, 2005. On this date, the older
version of the system will no longer be accessible.
One critical feature of the system of which you need to be aware is that all
current EEC users will be required to go through a reauthorization
process. To ensure that each person authorized to use the system is
the appropriate user for their department, we will require that the
department payroll staff input contact information for their department/unit
head. This input of information will trigger an email to the department/unit
head identified, who should then reply to ISS authorizing you as an approved
EEC user for your department. Before being able to utilize EEC 2005 we must
have this approval on file. Given the time of year EEC 2005 is being
released, when many payroll users are accessing the system, we would like to
ensure that you have advance notice about this specific reauthorization
requirement so that you might be able to plan in advance for obtaining
authorization early.
In order to ensure that you are prepared to utilize the new system, the ISS
will make the following dates and times available for you to receive
important training and information about the 2005 Release of the Employment
Eligibility Certification (EEC) system. We would like to ask that you
register for a specific training session so that we can ensure
enough available space and materials. Please note that spaces are
limited and on a first come, first serve basis.
Attendance is important so that both new and old users of the system can
become familiarized with the more effective and efficient process. Some of
the new changes in the EEC system will include: being able to enter a
student in the EEC for summer/winter break periods, system notifications
when you try to enter a student into the EEC who already has an active EEC
record with another department, and the ability to transfer an EEC record to
another department.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at the training.
