Students with a job offer will need to apply for a Social Security Number, a requirement for those who are employed in the U.S. The hiring department will provide the student an offer letter to take to ISS, which will in turn provide an official letter to present to the Social Security Administration (SSA) along with immigration documents. International Student Services will be providing transportation to this office on Wednesday, August 20 beginning at 6:15 AM. The vans will meet in front of Bizzell Hall West. The Social Security Office prefers that you come on this date.

Students should have the following items with them before going to the Social Security Office.

1. I-20 or DS-2019 (and a photocopy)
2. I-94 card (and a photocopy)
3. Passport (and a photocopy of the picture page,
    the page showing the expiration date, and your U.S. visa stamp)
4. Social Security letter obtained from an International Student
    Advisor.
5. Social Security letter from the hiring department
6. Completed (in blue or black ink) Social Security
    Application (the form can be downloaded at
     http://www.socialsecurity.gov/online/ss-5.html)

If you want to change your session schedule, please visit the "updating page" which is linked on the email which we sent you, confirming your registration. And, using the drop button, drop your schedule first and then reserve your new time slot. After the  schedule date has arrived, you cannot drop or change your schedule using the on-line system.
