Online Orientation

Any Texas A&M University student who is neither a U.S. Citizen nor a U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident is considered to be an international student. The following groups of international students are required to complete the Online Orientation:


  • ALL international students beginning their first academic program at Texas A&M University
  • Those international students who will change their nonimmigrant status to F-1 or J-1
  • Those international students who will process a reinstatement or new entry after failing to maintain F-1 or J-1 status
  • Those J-1 international students who failed to obtain written authorization from International Student Services (ISS) for on-campus employment
  • Those international students who have taken a leave of absence from Texas A&M University for one year or more and wish to resume their enrollment

New international students who will be starting their first academic program at Texas A&M University are encouraged to complete the Online Orientation prior to entering the United States or arriving in the Bryan/College Station area.


SUMMER 2012

All international students who plan to first enroll at Texas A&M University during the Summer 2012 semester are REQUIRED to complete the Summer 2012 Online Orientation. Students must complete the Summer 2012 Online Orientation before they can schedule a Check-In appointment. In order to complete the Summer 2012 Online Orientation, you must review all sections, pass the quiz at the end of each section that has a quiz, and receive a confirmation e-mail verifying your completion of the Online Orientation.

Students who do not complete the Summer 2012 Online Orientation by the 15th day of class will receive a registration hold preventing registration for the Fall 2012 and/or Spring 2013 semesters. The registration hold will not be removed until the student completes the Summer 2012 Online Orientation.


FALL 2012

All international students who plan to first enroll at Texas A&M University during the Fall 2012 semester are REQUIRED REQUIRED to complete the Fall 2012 Online Orientation before they can schedule a Check-In appointment. New international students who do not complete the Fall 2012 Online Orientation by the 15th day of class will receive a registration hold preventing registration for the Spring 2013 semester. The registration hold will not be removed until the student completes the Fall 2012 Online Orientation.

Those international students who are required to complete the Online Orientation for one of the other reasons indicated above should confirm with ISS to determine which semester’s Online Orientation they should complete. For these students, the Online Orientation must be completed before your I-20 or DS-2019 will be issued by ISS or before your SEVIS record will be corrected.

In order to complete the Fall 2012 Online Orientation, you must review all sections, pass the quiz at the end of each section that has a quiz, and receive a confirmation e-mail verifying your completion of the Online Orientation.

  • Registration for the Fall 2012 Online Orientation will be available by the end of May 2012. Only those students who plan to begin their academic program in the Fall 2012 semester should complete the Fall 2012 Online Orientation.

SPRING 2013

All international students who plan to first enroll at Texas A&M University during the Spring 2013 semester are REQUIRED to complete the Spring 2013 Online Orientation. Students must complete the Spring 2013 Online Orientation before they can schedule a Check-In appointment. In order to complete the Spring 2013 Online Orientation, you must review all sections, pass the quiz at the end of each section that has a quiz, and receive a confirmation e-mail verifying your completion of the Online Orientation.

Students who do not complete the Spring 2013 Online Orientation by the 15th day of class will receive a registration hold preventing registration for the Summer and Fall 2013 semesters. The registration hold will not be removed until the student completes the Spring 2013 Online Orientation.

  • Registration for the Spring 2013 Online Orientation will be available by the beginning of December 2013. Only those students who plan to begin their academic program in the Spring 2013 semester should complete the Spring 2013 Online Orientation.
Previous Semesters

Those students who have a registration hold for failure to complete the Online Orientation during their first semester at Texas A&M University or during their first semester in a new nonimmigrant status should have received an email with detailed instructions for how to resolve the hold. If the Online Orientation corresponding to your starting semester is no longer accessible on this page, please take the current Online Orientation available instead.
