Christine LiuQing  

Christine Liuqing Yang joined IPA in September 2008. She previously held several positions at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), which she joined in 2000 as chief editor and program manager of the Virtual Science Museum (English Version), an award-winning Web site of science education. Later in her employment with CAS, she was international affairs executive of the Computer Network Information Center (CNIC) of CAS. Christine was most recently Assistant Director at the Institute for Scientific Computation under the office of the Vice President for Research. She has chaired or served on a number of association boards to promote arts, culture and international communication, and has been instrumental in many areas of collaborative research between Texas A&M and China.

Christine Yang holds a B.A. in English & International Trade and a M.S. in Science & Technology Journalism. Her responsibilities at IPA include:

  • Serve as counsel to IPA Director on academic, administrative and business activities.
  • Help develop training programs for overseas institutions and organizations
  • Coordinate new research collaborations
  • Further the marketing of Texas A&M in the Asia Pacific Region
  • Direct communications for IPA, including web site development, publicity activities and preparation of proposals and publications
  • Supervise administrative staff and oversee business and administration related activities.
  • Serve as liaison with other university offices, national and international organizations
