IPECC Overview

The International Programs Enhancement and Coordination Committee (IPECC) is an internal advisory committee for Texas A&M’s International Programs Office.

Composition of IPECC

  • IPECC, chaired by the Associate Vice President for International Programs, was created in 1990 by the Executive Vice President and Provost to serve as an internal advisory committee for Texas A&M's International Programs Office and to ensure university-wide coordination of international activities.
  • IPECC has a diverse membership including representatives from ten colleges, Vice President of Student Affairs, Office of Vice President for Research, Graduate Studies, Student Government, MSC, International Student Association, Graduate Student Association, Admission and Records, and the Office of University Relations.
  • Members also include the Directors reporting to the Associate Vice President for International Programs: International Programs for Students, International Faculty and Scholars Services, International Center, Office of Latin American Programs, Institute for Pacific Asia, the European Union Center, and the Qatar Support Office.
  • IPECC members are the facilitators, advocates and catalysts of Texas &M's international program efforts. The college and campus unit representatives are particularly encouraged to be facilitators of the international activities and promoters of international awareness in their respective colleges/and units.

Charge of IPECC

  • To advise the International Programs Office on program development;
  • To recommend policies and guidelines on international issues;
  • To plan and coordinate international activities across campus;
  • To participate in the TAMU International Board Meetings and activities
  • To promote international awareness

IPECC Meetings

  • IPECC agenda is developed by the Associate Vice President after consultation with IPECC members the week prior to meetings
  • Guidelines and policies recommended by IPECC will be forwarded to Academic Policy Council (APC) and/or the Provost for final review and approval.
  • IPECC members serve on various standing subcommittees including; International Student Scholarship Subcommittee, Study Abroad Program Policy Subcommittee, International Education Fee Scholarship Subcommittee, and Study Abroad Fellowship Subcommittee, and others as requested.
