As the central office responsible for coordinating the University’s international activities, the International Programs Office (IPO) has the mission of integrating a global perspective into the teaching, research, and public service programs of the University and reaching the goals of diversity and globalization imperatives of Vision 2020. IPO’s overall strategic goal is to make Texas A&M University one of the most internationally oriented of the ten best public universities in the United States.

International Programs office strategic objectives are guided by the Vision 2020 goals to make international education one of the many traditions that make Texas A&M unique among its higher education peers. Four overarching goals guide IPO are:

  1. To strengthen and expand the international perspectives of Texas A&M students, both undergraduate and graduate;
  2. To enhance the international dimension of the academic and research programs at the University;
  3. To strengthen and expand the international dimension of the University’s outreach and service efforts;
  4. To increase the funding base in support of Texas A&M University’s international initiatives.

To help us remain committed to these goals and to provide university wide coordination for Texas A&M’s globalization efforts, an International Programs Enhancement and Coordination Committee (IPECC) was formed. The International board provides advice on networking and seeking private and governmental support for programs. Members have a reputation for generous contributions, including building international networks, creating scholarships and endowments, offering internships and serving as mentors to students.
